How to be Simply Organised this Summer

Our favourite organisational business woman, Sue Doyle, takes to Femme Country again but this time to teach us how to have a simpler & more joyful Summer.

Do you crave a simpler life?

To move from Busy to Balanced?

To experience those winning at life moments!

Here are 10 Simple Life Hacks to help you this summer and beyond:

KEEP CONTROL OF YOU MONEY

Have a financial meeting with yourself every month – The last week of the month is usually the best time. Check your accounts for unrequired direct debits & Standing orders, review where you have spent your cash – are you happy with your choices? Make a plan for the next month – You could create an excel spreadsheet to plan monthly expenditure.

USE YOUR DOWNTIME

When you are waiting - use the time to delete unwanted apps on your phone – this will save you so much time searching for apps. Maybe take it a step further and colour code them.

KEEPING YOUR HEAD UNCLUTTERED

Invest in a cute notebook to keep in your bag to make notes, create lists and record your thoughts. This will release some space in your mind for creative thinking.

HAVE A CEO MEETING

You are the CEO of your life - It a very important role! Take some time each week to have a meeting – Grab a coffee or wine & find somewhere quiet - Review your projects, your income, your contentment & happiness, check your diary - Is it all work & no play?

FEEL ORGANISED WHEN YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE

Create a ‘Leaving the House’ pile in your home – So as you prepare for the following day, you can place all the items you need to take with you together in the designated area. This could be your work bag, laptop AND charger, dry cleaning, library books, reusable coffee cup & school bags. Don’t forget a note (I leave a fork) to go on to top remind you to take your lunch from the fridge.

FEEL LIKE YOU ARE WINNING AT LIFE IN THE SUPERMARKET

At the supermarket till, pack your items into your Bags for life with alike items i.e Fridge, freezer. Cupboards. Makes unpacking at home so much easier.

TAKE CONTROL IN THE KITCHEN

Create a weekly menu, check your stock and place your food order/ make a shopping list - saves time and money. Have a rolling shopping list on display to add any items to you have run out of.

BE THE PICNIC QUEEN

If you are going on a picnic – Use frozen bread to make the sandwiches – They will keep the other items cool and sandwiches will be chilled by the time you eat them – Sounds weird I know – but give it a go!

HIT THE DAY RUNNING

Start each day smoothly by getting your clothes, shoes & bag ready the night before, do the same with your children – never too early to get organised.

THE JOY OF RESETTING

A great way to maintain your space is Twice Daily Resets.

  • Reset bedrooms, by making the beds, spritzing the bedding with diluted Zoflora Linen, smells like fresh bedding every night!

  • Dishwasher goes on, to empty in the morning.

  • Wipe down the kitchen tops, cooker etc and get out any defrosting you need for the following day.
