With many names entering the candle sector and thousands of scents and jars perched upon people's shelves it's hard to choose the perfect one in the store. Our opinion is look no further than The Little Yorkshire Candle Company. Created and founded by the lovely Alex, a Yorkshire lady with a keen interest in creating bespoke candles with calming and relaxing aromas that hadn't been created before. Her craftsmanship began as a small girl as she began making her own perfumes using natural ingredients and after working at Harrods she moved back to Yorkshire to pursue a career in the candle making industry.
Made with 100% natural ingredients its not wonder people are so intrigued about the brand, and with their logo, a small brown acorn, her company represents nature and community. With a range of both candles, diffusers and fragrance you'll be spoilt for choice. Currently she has eight different candles; Affirmation, Bliss, Create, Midwinter, Sensual, Serenity, Sleep and the newest one The Secret Garden.

We were kindly invited by Alex on 31st May to attend her launch party for The Secret Garden Limited Edition candle. Set in Castle Howard the setting matched perfectly with the aura of the candle and the interior smelt like heavens scents from the candle filled the room. With gorgeous handprinted biscuits and a two tiered cake that co-ordinated with the candle in terms of pattern and colour the room was like a small Mad Hatters tea party with a splash of alcohol! The candle itself was perched around the room on chandeliers and mirrors as well as on the tables and the blue flower illustration on the jar pulled the candle closer to nature.
Scott Henshall, former creative director of fashion house Mulberry, collaborated with Alex on the candle for the second time after the VALOUR candle for York Fashion Week and with a great relationship they have created an amazing candle not just as an ornamentation but a gorgeous aroma therapy feature also.
Not only was this a fantastic opportunity to view The Yorkshire Candle Company's new candle but it opened up a fabulous time for every invited to mingle and exchange Instagram's as well as creating a country community. As well as myself the likes of The Yorkshire Partridge, Three Four Nine Interiors, Bank Top Cottage etc joined the party and it was extremely nice to be able to get to know people you work with over social media face to face. This is why I love events like this as people's passions and work bring others together in the hope of future collaborations and plans.

So, if you haven't experienced the scent of The Little Yorkshire Candle Company they are on sale in various places around Yorkshire including Castle Howard, Covet Harrogate and York Art Museum. Or head over to their website, all links below, and add a candle to your bag (or two!)
Lots of Love,
